Hopefully this guide has made the process of running macOS Catalina on your VirtualBox easier than ever. This now means that you'll never need to settle for running a single OS again, you can run macOS alongside your Windows Operating system with ease. Install a new VirtualBox 6.1.4 to fix problem with macOS 10.14.3. Featured Posts.
I wish I had known this when I first started because I delayed myself for 3 years before biting the bullet and buying a Mac.
Had I known about running Xcode on Windows or about the solutions below, I might've started building iPhone apps much earlier!
Rent a Mac
Before committing to buying a new Mac, you can actually 'rent' one for development. You'll remotely access the Mac and Xcode through your PC.
It'll be like having the Mac desktop in a window on your Windows Desktop.
The really nice thing about this option is that the cost is really low and it's the fastest option to get up and running.
If you decide that app development isn't for you, you just cancel your plan.

If you go down this route for iOS app development, make sure you get my Xcode cheatsheet with references and keyboard shortcuts for Windows users.
There are a couple other companies that provide this service:
2. MacInCloud
This is the most well known service out of the three. You won't have to install Xcode because it comes preinstalled. You can also do pay-as-you-go so it's a pretty low commitment. Some people complain that it's slow but you can try it out for yourself since it's only about a buck an hour!

3. XcodeClub
XcodeClub is run by Daniel who is a passionate developer himself. From the reviews I see, the service is fast and friendly. The pricing is less flexible than MacInCloud and you'll have to commit to at least a month.
Virtualize MacOS
If you're a little more technically savvy, you can use virtualization software and run a 'virtual Mac' on your PC.
The services above are essentially doing the same thing on their servers and then they charge you a fee to access the virtual machine.
By setting it up yourself on your own PC, you essentially cut the middle man out of the equation.
Unfortunately it does take a little bit of technical know-how to get this up and running. http://inrenisva1977.mystrikingly.com/blog/add-a-blog-post-title-e2709f5a-5c9c-4f93-bbdd-fc7b18bac304.
The two most popular pieces of software to do virtualization are VirtualBox and VMWare Workstation.
You can download them below and then use Google to find a guide on how to install the latest MacOS (Mojave) with either VirtualBox or VMWare Workstation.
After that, spin up your new virtual Mac and download Xcode. This is as close as you'll get to running actual Xcode on Windows!
4. VirtualBox
VirtualBox is open source software which means that it's free. That probably explains why it's a lot more popular than VMWare Workstation when it comes to running MacOS on your Windows machine!
5. VMWare Workstation
Unfortunately you'll have to pay for this piece of software and at the time of this writing, a license costs about half the price of a brand new Mac Mini which is perfectly suitable for iOS app development. I would recommend you try VirtualBox first or try to buy a used Mac Mini.
Build a 'Hackintosh'
You can also build a 'Hackintosh' which is a PC that has been customized to run MacOS.
This requires the most effort out of all the options presented so far but it can work for someone who wants a separate physical computer running MacOS.
6. Hackintosh.com
A great resource for all things Hackintosh. The first How-To section contains links to a number of great tutorials for building your own Hackintosh and installing High Sierra.

I included this link because it contains up to date news and articles for Hackintosh builds.
Third Party Solutions
Lastly, there are many third party solutions that you can use to do iOS development on Windows.
You won't be using Xcode in these solutions but you'll be able to generate an app that can run on iOS devices.
Check out these great Xcode alternatives:
9. React Native
Use JavaScript to build native mobile apps.
10. Xamarin
Use C# to build a mobile app that you can deploy natively to Android, iOS and Windows.

If you have to build Mac OS software or iOS applications and don't have Mac to download Xcode, don't get disheartened. This article will show you a workaround to download Xcode for Windows 10, 8.1, 8 or Windows 7.
Though the article is solely for educational purpose as if you are a professional developer and would be making lots of Mac OS or iOS software/applications, I'd suggest you get Mac itself.
Xcode is a complete software development kit (SDK) that helps you make Mac OS or iOS software without any need of installing any other software.

It is a complete package you need in order to build software or applications for Apple devices. Xcode is solely made for Mac OS and it is not available for Windows and other operating systems.
There are several problems as to why Xcode is not available for other platforms, at least for Windows (widely used OS)! One of the most prompt reason is compatibility.
Of course, the other (Windows ) operating system and the Mac OS both are developed to function differently and coded in a different programing language.
On a broader note, Xcode is a Mac software and it is not possible to download Xcode for Windows without workaround that I've discussed below.

What is Xcode?
Whenever we've to build an application or software of any operating system, we need a kind of software development kit which is called SDK in general.
The software development kit has all the necessary set of software required to develop a fully functional application (or software). Xcode does this job for Mac OS.
Xcode is an Integrated Development Environment which has to be installed on Mac before you start developing an app for Mac OS or iOS operating system.
Xcode according to Wikipedia was first launched in 2003 with a motive to make developing Mac OS based application easy.
Xcode Windows 10 Install
Xcode SDK is a complete package for developing Mac OS or iOS applications that includes tools for building interface and coding. The interface builder and an assets management toolkit are the important features of Xcode.
It could be disappointing for the people who want to learn to develop Mac OS or iOS applications but don't have Mac to download Xcode.
Don't worry, as I said above, with the workaround that I've explained below, anyone can get Xcode for Windows operating system as well.
let's go ahead and see how.
How to get Xcode for Windows
The process is a bit long but if you follow steps as I explained, you will get Xcode for Windows pretty easily. It is a several steps process and needs you do install a couple of software/applications.
Pre-requisite for Xcode for Windows:
Before we start with the process, below are the pre-requisites. You must have to get below things ready.
Xcode Windows 10 Virtualbox Dmg Update
- Mac OS X Virtual Machine/ VMware or VirtualBox. Download VirtualBox
- An Apple ID.
- Xcode package (download it from Here, you need apple ID to download)
- PC with Intel Core i3 Processor (i5 is recommended)
- 2GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
- Reliable Internet Connection (to download Xcode, VMware etc).
The step-wise procedure to download Xcode for Windows-
- Since you had already downloaded VirtualBox, install it on your computer now.
- Now search on Google 'OSX Maverick ISO file' and download it. You can find it easily. If you don't, drop me a line.
- It is now time to create a Virtual Machine with Oracle VirtualBox. Open VM VirtualBox Manager and hit 'New' as shown in below screenshot.
- Now you need to name it. Enter OSX under the name field. Select Mac OS X from 'Type' drop-down menu and select version 32- bit.
- Now you need to select the memory size. It is recommended to assign 2 GB if your PC has 4 GB RAM. If the RAM of your PC is 2 GB, assign 1 GB to a virtual machine. You can change the size by sliding the arrow left or right on the ruler.
- Next, from three options, select 'Create a Virtual hard disk now'.
- Now you need to select the Hard Drive type. Select VDI (Virtual Disk Image).
- Now you need to select storage on a physical hard disk. Chose 'Dynamically Allotted'.
- Enter the location and check for storage size. If everything looks fine, hit 'Create'. Congratulations! Virtual Machine has been installed. Now we need to mount ios file.
- Click on 'Settings' > Storage and add file by clicking Green Plus button as shown in below image and finally click OK.
- You will see the desktop!
- Now we need to download Xcode from Apple App store. Lunch App store and search for 'Xcode'. It will ask you to log in with your Apple ID before taking to an app store. The search results should show Xcode.
- Click Xcode to install. Allow it for some time until the process is completed. Once the installation is done, you'll have the shortcut created. That's all! You can now develop Mac OS applications on our windows machine.

Can I really use Xcode for Windows as it is exclusively for Mac?Xcode is available for Mac users only, hence those who want to use this application for education purpose, this is the workaround. If you want to use Xcode for professional purposes, it is better to get Macbook.
Will it slow down my PCXcode is a programming software and utilizes resources. Hence, you can expect some lag.
